Poor Poles look at the Ghetto was a performance recalling the Krakow Jews murdered in the ghetto. This piece was presented by the KTO Theatre in Krakow in May 2021 and directed by Jerzy Zon.
During this project I had the privilege of working as an assistant to the costume designer Joanna Jasko-Sroka. Together we prepared over 120 costumes, transforming the actors and extras into pre-war inhabitants of Krakow.

The performance took the form of a theatrical impression evoking the memory of the Jews murdered in the Krakow ghetto. The museum installation at Heroes of the Ghetto Square, the Chairs, remained untouched and served as the backdrop for the actions of dancers, actors, extras, and musicians.
A group of over one hundred performers in 1940s costumes appeared on Heroes of the Ghetto Square, creating theatrical études that reflected the richness of Polish Jewish culture and tradition.
